BASEMENT
This was an interesting challenge, enabling us to use a new building technology to give the client the additional space that they wanted in a safe and guaranteed way.
The client’s house sat in heavy clay soil and making sure that the new basement was free from damp was a key priority.
The new insulated concrete formwork (ICF) technology that we used allowed us to create the basement quickly and cost effectively, overcoming concerns from the planners and in effect giving the client 'free' space.
By opening the basement into the garden, the client has a light and flexible room that can be used by all the family.
